Most Youth Soccer Players Need More Technical Training
Most youth soccer players in the United States lack technical skills.
That might sound like a strange statement, but let me explain.
I've been training youth soccer players since I was 20 years old, and one thing I've consistently noticed is that nearly 90% of my students need to improve their technique.
When I say technique, I'm talking about the fundamentals: dribbling, cutting, trapping, footwork, skill moves, controlling the ball at speed, receiving balls out of the air, and using different parts of the foot effectively.
Soccer is an incredibly technical sport, and developing these skills takes consistent, focused practice.
That's why my private, one-on-one soccer training sessions in Pittsburgh, PA, place such a strong emphasis on improving each player's technical ability.
My goal is simple: to help young players become more skilled, confident, and comfortable with the ball at their feet.
